What kind of double-glazed windows will not accept?

I just moved house and the new house is a Victorian (1900) home in London. Windows are all in one glass and wood (the sash and frame). I'm thinking of replacing the single crystal with double glazing, but do not know if windows takes. Is there a minimum thickness or so I have to visit?
