i need to replace my old double hung wood windows…I was going to use Andersen–since I like the narrow framing on those windows–and that they are wood on the inside which can be painted to match the room…unfortunately, it seems Andersen only has windows either 24″ wide or 28.5″ wide–and the size that would fit my opening would be 23″ wide…(I would like to use FIVE 23″ casement windows, side by side, to fill the opening!)…any ideas? someone mentioned Bonneville can make 23″ casement window size. Anyone know if Bonneville makes a nice narrow framed casement window and are they paintable (wood) on the inside of the window? I am limited in terms of budget…it seems from speaking to a local salesperson…Andersen and Bonneville are within my means…(I don’t know if I can afford Marvin–well, at least that’s what the salesguy said?!) ok…..all u guys that fixed up your homes…any ideas out there for me for nice replacement casement windows????????? THANX!!

I’m in the Boston, MA area and have a small ranch house with aluminum, storm windows. There are a total of eight windows on three sides to replace: 4, 2 and 2.

Side one has 2 small, one medium, one large, to replace. Second side 2 small. Third side, 2 medium.

I know I don’t have the budget for all at once, but could I start on one side without the house looking “strange”?

What kind of windows would give me the biggest bang for the buck?
