I don’t know how much it would cost but the best windows in the world are Champion windows.
call around to get estimates. i did and got estimates between 3 and 12 thousand dollars. everyone tried to get me to purchase that day. i was rude and told them straight up ” i’m in the process of doing my homework. don’t bother with the high pressure sales.” only one company obliged me. window world. we still haven’t decided on what company to go with so i will keep my eye on this question.
Cost is dependant on size and type of glass. You are probably looking at around 3000 dollars for double pane Vinyl Windows. Use vinyl because they will last the longest and are easier to clean.
Replacing looks hard but is easier than you think. What I did for my windows was hired a local contractor to replace one window and I watched and took notes. I replaced the rest myself.
Replacing windows is done from the inside first by taking out the gyproc arond the frame and then the nails (should be screws) that hold the window in place. Then have someone on the outside to hold the window and gently push it out towards the outside.
Put the new window in from the outside, if you are using the same sized frame it will fit right in and you wont have to fix your siding. Screw the new window in once it is sitting flush on the outside. Repair the walls on the inside and you are done.
I just replaced with Pella windows and although they are beautiful, I probably could have gone with Marvin….I have 6 door windows (fully length..french doors) and 9 standard size windows and the costs from Lowes was 6800.00 plus labor, but guess what??? I added insulation in the attic and in the outside walls and cut my electricity in half!!!!
