replacement windows
Sim1800 asked:

i need to replace my old double hung wood windows…I was going to use Andersen–since I like the narrow framing on those windows–and that they are wood on the inside which can be painted to match the room…unfortunately, it seems Andersen only has windows either 24″ wide or 28.5″ wide–and the size that would fit my opening would be 23″ wide…(I would like to use FIVE 23″ casement windows, side by side, to fill the opening!)…any ideas? someone mentioned Bonneville can make 23″ casement window size. Anyone know if Bonneville makes a nice narrow framed casement window and are they paintable (wood) on the inside of the window? I am limited in terms of budget…it seems from speaking to a local salesperson…Andersen and Bonneville are within my means…(I don’t know if I can afford Marvin–well, at least that’s what the salesguy said?!) ok…..all u guys that fixed up your homes…any ideas out there for me for nice replacement casement windows????????? THANX!!

Well, Marvin makes a true, wood/clad replacement casement window that can be made to size. If you can afford Andersen, it shouldn’t be that much more.

The Marvin unit can fit within your existing window framework and will save on labor costs. I have sold quite a few of these units. Talk with a Marvin dealer in your area. The unit might be higher, but the installation should save some $$$. Plus, if you purchase before the end of the year, you can qualify for a 30% tax credit (make sure they use the Low E 366 glazing).
