I’m assuming that you are making this improvement because your windows are drafty. Certainly, storm windows or as you call them, aluminum windows are essential.

The payback for the installation of new windows is about 17 years, that’s a long time and a big expense. It is proven that the most effective way to control heat loss and gain is by the use of window treatments. This is an improvement to your living spaces which issues a payback to you every year, not just one time.

For instance, I live in the northeast. In my region and with the price of heating oil at $1.85, you would save $1.75 per square foot of window glass for every window you put a treatment on. One third of your heat escapes through your windows, that’s a monumental waste of money and resources. (I hear the hum of calculators all over the nation as people are figuring out how much glass they have in their houses)

I help people make their homes beautiful and save energy (=money) by the installation of a wide variety of window treatments. Every year manufacturers come up with new and innovative ways to be energy efficient. Gone are the days of the old solar blankets on your windows. Now you can have state of the art treatments which add to the beauty of your home. Who knew???
Best,
Beverly
