Usually “drifting down” indicates a broken spring on one side. I’m not positive, but do not think they are adjustable. Replacing the spring device is usually fairly easy. Local Peachtree dealers should have or be able to order this part for you.

There are spring balances that control the positioning of the sashes. It sounds as if yours is won out or defective.
