Memo asked:

I have only begun to shop, and I don’t want to spend time with windows that are obviously (to a knowledgeable person) inferior or low quality – but how to judge? This is the question. I would think that any window I would accept would be double pane, Lo E, probably vinyl (not certain about this). I see prices of $189, $215, 50% off (of what price?), and other. So the question becomes = how can I know if the window is a quality window instead of an inferior or even borderline window. Does this help clarify the question?

Replacing a bay leaf window box with a door? how easy?

Hello, I have a box sash window in my kitchen, but exterior door. I would like to replace this window with a door. The thing is the leaf box is in a small bay, a large window in the front two small to sides, it looks like a complete picture, ie there is no gap in the corners between the side and front windows. It is no plaster on the interior and exterior walls of brick, without cavity (Victorian house), window frames to the upper reaches of the bay, the bay window measures 91 "high 48" width Bay has its own little roof. the window is on the first floor and opens onto a covered terrace flat, I get out of there! What is the verdict, it is possible, easy, could be made self def constructor or a job? The funds will be rigorous so hope-it-yourself tips for real. Thank you. Pigeon feeder

Now, you have to remove the bricks of this wall by cutting lines on both sides, and horizontally. Install the new wall development and the outer casing. Now install the door for manufacturers directions.Measure distance to reduce the ceiling from the doorway. must take one step every 7 1 / 2 inches or less drop. If more than one step, you may have built a landing at the upper deck. I've left out a few steps to simplify this answer, but you get the idea.
