I live in CT and am looking for replacing old windows. Any recommendations of dealers /manufacturers based on quality & pricing will be helpful. Did got some information on Simonton through Home depot and Kengsington from one of the dealers. There is lot of price difference simonton 15K and kengsington 31K. This is for 16 Double Hung Windows , 2 Picture Casement combinations and one huge 7′ X 13′ window

I’m in the Boston, MA area and have a small ranch house with aluminum, storm windows. There are a total of eight windows on three sides to replace: 4, 2 and 2.
Side one has 2 small, one medium, one large, to replace. Second side 2 small. Third side, 2 medium.
I know I don’t have the budget for all at once, but could I start on one side without the house looking “strange”?
What kind of windows would give me the biggest bang for the buck?

I live in an older house (1925) and I have dark wood trim throughout the house which I love but we recently had replacement windows put in. They are white/plastic? Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether I can paint/stain the white part of the windows to match the trim? Thanks!

We’re getting ready to replace our existing aluminum windows. Two different company’s have told us that it is better to have a vinyl replacement window which has a steel framing in the structure so the vinyl can’t buckle over time (i.e. Polybau and Window World).
Is it really necessary to have this metal framing in the structure or does it depending on the size of the window? We have one very large window, 120″ width x 60″ height which I would find this to be very important in the long run.
If it is recommended, can anyone recommend other brands with great NFRC ratings that have metal framing in the Vinyl Windows structure besides the two I have already listed? I am in Northern California, so please keep in mind available brands. Thanks much!
One thing I failed to mention, I am not referring to the spacer between the panes of glass, but the actual vinyl framing. Thanks again.

As many bedrooms / square foot / extras? I cozey my little house. It is 1080 square feet 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with living room, dining room, kitchen. Perfect for three of us and still be perfect when we withdraw.

All the window companies seem to be selling practically the same thing. What is it that I am supposed to be asking them, and what am I supposed to be looking for? They all say the “E” thing with Argon. All vinyl, tilt in for cleaning…How do I know who to go with?
I like the look of the old windows as well, HOWEVER, my house is SO cold in the winter its not even funny. And the noise factor is terrible from the street. Also the outside frames are rotten so some of the storm windows just shake a rattle in the wind offering no coverage at all.
